Communication Model for People with Speaking Disabilities
Product Details
Gloves Flex Senor Arduino |
People with speaking disabilities are unable to speak appropriately with normal people, hence they use sign language to communicate. Similarly, most of the people also suffer from the similar problem to communicate with them. Now, in order to communication with people having speaking disabilities and using signs or sign language, we aimed to develop a communication system that converts signs into text and voice as well. To accomplish the task, we used Flex sensors in order to measure the fingers movement. We also develop a dictionary comprising more than 100 samples for various signs. Every time the system learns a sign, a signal is transmitted through Arduino to the Android phone via Bluetooth device. The Android device (smart phone) use an application with do the process and convert that sing into text. Afterwards, the text displayed on the android phone is converted into voice. Since disable people are usually dispossessed of normal communication with other people, they have to rely on an interpreter. Now the interpreter cannot be available always, so this project can help eliminate the dependency on the interpreter. The system can be extended to convey the knowledge of facial expressions and body language too, so that there is a complete understanding of the context and tone of the input speech. Integrating hand gesture recognition system with other communicating device such as android phone to establish two-way communication system.
