Water is a national asset, but being utilized on basis of payment of the price. The more is the usage more is the payment. However, this system of distribution has created shortage of water as those who can afford, think that they pay for what they use and so use it profusely. It must be realized that water is a national asset and if a segment of society uses it at will the others may be suffering from the shortage. The project is IOT based where flow of inlet and out let of water from each overhead tank in a smart city/ society can be recorded for purpose of comparison, control or legislation at society/city level or national level if the devised system is extended to whole country.

Such an effort will make us conserve the use of national assets such as water. This system can be applied to any other commodities where distribution is through distribution companies like gas,electricity etc.
